Ending Violence Against Women and Girls
From 25 November to 10 December 2024, the Champions of Change Coalition is proud to join the global movement to end violence against women and girls during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Violence against women is a crisis impacting millions worldwide. In Australia alone, nearly 2 in 5 women have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace in the past five years, and domestic violence remains a devastating issue, with a woman violently killed on average every four days in 2024. This is a national and global emergency that demands action from all sectors of society.

Why we support the 16 Days of Activism
Since 2015, the Champions of Change Coalition has prioritised addressing domestic, family, and sexual violence as a critical workplace issue. Survivor advocates remind us that workplaces are uniquely positioned to lead societal change and support employees, clients, customers and the communities in which we work who are impacted, sending strong messages of care, accountability, and the shared responsibility to end gender-based violence.
As part of this commitment, we are taking proactive steps to build greater awareness and help prevent and respond to domestic, family and sexual violence including by:
- Raising awareness about gender-based violence by lighting up our buildings and assets orange in support of UN Women Australia’s Safe.Everywhere.Always. campaign
- Helping to prevent the misuse of products and services by people who use domestic and family violence.
- Embedding gender-equal and inclusive design into workplace practices, including the design of products and services to help prevent their misuse.
- Advocating for collective action through industry collaboration and legislative reforms.
During the 16 Days of Activism, we will continue amplifying our efforts through this campaign, lighting buildings orange to raise awareness, and engaging our Members to act across workplaces, communities, and industries.
Together, we reaffirm our commitment to ending gender-based violence and creating a future where every woman and girl is Safe. Everywhere. Always.
