Liz Westgarth is an experienced, highly respected Architect with an extensive international career leading and designing high-profile projects and integrated precincts spanning the workplace, retail, residential and culture sectors.
As Hassell’s first female Managing Director, Liz is responsible for leading the direction and strategy of the practice globally – with the vision to deliver a better future by designing places people love. She’s driven by her passion for sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and technology-based innovation.
Liz Westgarth is known for the clear vision that underpins both her leadership and design work. She brings a winning combination of strong and inspiring leadership and a deep and detailed understanding of client, project and market drivers.
Representing a generational shift in leadership, Liz is particularly passionate about opening up more opportunities for women to lead in the design industry and is an active mentor and role model to the next generation of leaders inside and outside of Hassell.
Liz is based in Sydney and is a member of the NSW State Design Review Panel. She’s also been acknowledged for her industry contributions, winning the 2022 Business Women of the Year Award at the NSW National Association of Women in Construction Awards for Excellence.
