Kathy MacDermott is an independent consultant on strategy, diversity and inclusion, and engagement working with property, infrastructure, and transport organisations.
Kathy has 38 years’ experience, including serving as the Chief Operating Officer at the Property Council of Australia (2014-2021). As COO Kathy led industry-wide diversity initiatives including the formation of the Champions of Change – Property Group in 2015 and was co-program director of the group from its establishment to July 2021.
Kathy’s career includes 11 years as a journalist at the Australian Financial Review, including seven years as the Queensland Bureau Chief.
In addition to consulting, Kathy is Engagement Advisor for Building 4.0 CRC – an industry-led research initiative funded by the Australian Government, Committee Member of the Archdiocese of Brisbane Property and Building Committee, and a Member of Chief Executive Women.
