Gillian Cagney is responsible for the operations for Australia and New Zealand, including Mongolia and PNG (Papua New Guinea). In this region she leads over 4,500 people as well as the financial and operational performance of business in this region to meet Worley’s strategic direction.
Gillian graduated with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland in 2001 and has over 19 years’ experience working in Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
Gillian Cagney joined Worley in 2004 in Ireland and moved to Gladstone, Queensland with them in 2005. She has held various positions in engineering, project/portfolio management, and operational management. Gillian has operated in the Australian LNG, aluminium smelting, oil refining and the Canadian oil sands industries. Her most recent role was Vice President for Worley New Zealand.
She was awarded a Chief Executive Women Scholarship to attend the Leading for Results Program at INSEAD in 2018 and is passionate about raising the profile of women in STEM.
Gillian is also on the Board for Venture Taranaki Trust in New Zealand which Taranaki’s Regional Development Agency as well as on the Steering Group for the Business Leaders H&S Forum in New Zealand.
Gillian now lives in Brisbane with her Irish husband and her two sons Jacob who is 7 and Noah who is 5 and were born in Canada and Australia.

Based in Victoria, the National 2015 Group represents some of Australia’s most significant local, national and international organisations. Members work within and across their organisations to improve the representation of women in leadership positions and non-traditional roles.
