Media Release: Champions of Change Releases Strategy 2026-2030. 30 July 2026

Champions of Change has launched its refreshed Strategy 2026–2030, setting a clear direction for the next phase of its work to achieve inclusive gender equality across Australian workplaces by 2030.

The strategy has been shaped through extensive engagement with Members, Convenors, Implementation Leaders, partners, the Board, Founder and team. It builds on progress made, with a clear call for sharper focus, stronger practical action, shared learning and collaboration to address the system barriers that organisations cannot solve alone.

It focuses our work on four mission-critical challenges:

  • Building equality and inclusion into the future.
  • Elevating and normalising inclusive leadership.
  • Unlocking our full workforce capacity.
  • Creating workplaces where everyone can thrive.

These priorities reflect the operating environment facing leaders. Organisations are navigating rapid advances in AI, workforce and skills transitions, productivity pressures, changing expectations of work, and continued scrutiny of safety, culture and conduct.

Inclusive gender equality is central to meeting these challenges. It helps organisations draw on the full capability of their people, improve leadership and decision-making, strengthen participation and retention, create safer and more respectful workplaces, and design systems that work for a wider range of people and lives.

The age of AI also creates an important opportunity. The decisions leaders make now about technology, data, governance, skills and work design will shape access and opportunity for decades. Equality, fairness, safety, respect and inclusion need to be built into these systems from the outset.

The refreshed strategy builds on the distinctive strengths of Champions of Change: CEO and Board-level leadership, trusted peer exchange, evidence-based practice, shared accountability and collective action across organisations and sectors.

Our primary focus remains Australia, with a long-standing and successful implementation of the strategy in Pakistan. We will also continue to share practical approaches and evidence so others can adopt and adapt what works, supporting Australia to be an international lighthouse for leadership on inclusive gender equality.

As always, we welcome leaders keen to be part of the generational change we are advancing with our Members and partners.
