Tony Johnson is the Chief Executive Officer of EY in Oceania, a member of EY’s Asia Pacific Operating Executive and EY’s Global Practice Group.
Over the past 28 years Tony has combined leadership roles within EY with successfully leading client account teams. His career has been primarily focussed on the financial services sector locally and internationally.
Tony is passionate about creating an environment and culture that encourages all people to focus on their development so as to achieve their full potential, particularly as leaders.
Prior to his current role Tony was the Regional Managing Partner for EY’s financial services business in Asia Pacific with responsibility for 5,000 professionals in eight countries providing audit, tax, advisory and transaction services to banks, insurers and asset managers across Asia Pacific.
During his career at EY Tony has been the dedicated client service partner for a diverse range of institutions including ANZ Bank, National Australia Bank, AMP, Tabcorp, AXA Asia Pacific and Hastings Funds Management and regional client service partner for multi-nationals including Goldman Sachs, AXA, Aviva, GE and Standard and Poors delivering strategic, operational, transaction, governance, assurance, risk, due diligence and regulatory reviews and services.
Tony is known for providing outstanding client service, the highest quality of work and effectively communicating with Boards, senior management and regulators.
Tony has a Bachelor of Economics, Master of Business Administration (Executive), Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance & Investment and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, Fellow of Finsia and a Member of Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
