Tim Ament is the senior vice president and Chief Country Executive for Ingram Micro Australia and New Zealand. In this role, he is responsible for the vision, strategy, leadership and performance of the region. Appointed to the role in January 2020, Ament’s directive for the Australian and New Zealand channel is simple: “Partner like you have never partnered before.”
Prior to his promotion, Ament led Ingram Micro’s U.S. Advanced Solutions team, which continues to serve approximately 2,000 solution providers and more than 500 technology manufacturers offering solutions across data center, IoT, infrastructure, enterprise software, networking, security, servers, storage virtualization technologies, physical security, digital signage and data capture / point of sale. He also oversaw the leadership responsible for Ingram Micro’s Promark and Cloud Harmonics organizations, as well as Ingram Micro’s Digital Transformation Services team.
Ament joined Ingram Micro in 1997, and has held various roles within the sales department, as well as worked within various business segments including the retail and direct marketer channels, VAR and business development. In 2007, Ament joined Ingram Micro’s U.S. vendor management team and gained responsibility for the components business. He was promoted to vice president of the Components Business Unit, where he was responsible for both sales and vendor management strategies for Ingram Micro’s North American components business.
A member of Ingram Micro’s inaugural Leadership Academy and Stanford’s Executive Leadership Program, Ament began serving as the vice president and general manager of the Direct and Consumer Markets Division in 2010. He was promoted to senior vice president of the Advanced Solutions organization in 2015.
Prior to joining Ingram Micro, Ament worked as a general manager for Circuit City for nine years. Ament earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. He enjoys digital photography and editing and runs on occasion.
