Romilly Madew is CEO of Engineers Australia. Previously Romilly was CEO Infrastructure Australia (IA), where she was responsible for overseeing IA’s critical role in helping governments prioritise projects and reforms that best serve our communities.
Before joining Infrastructure Australia, Ms Madew was CEO of Green Building Council of Australia for 13 years. In acknowledgment of her contribution to Australia’s sustainable building movement, Ms Madew was awarded an Order of Australia in 2019.
In her capacity as CEO of Engineers Australia, so sits on the STEM Champions of Change committee. She is also currently a Member of the Australian Academy of Technology & Engineering (ATSE) Infrastructure Forum; Director Placemaking NSW Board; Director Sydney Olympic Park Authority; Independent Chair Currawong State Park Advisory Board (NSW); Federal Government appointee, G20 EMPOWER – Empowerment and Progression of Women’s Economic Representation and Director of Minerva Network (supporting Australia’s elite sportswomen).
Romilly is an active surf life saver. She was previously President of Bilgola SLSC, is a Patrol Captain for Bilgola and for Surf Lifesaving Sydney Northern Beaches Branch she is the Support Services Coordinator, a Duty Officer and Committee Member Diversity and Inclusion working group.

Romilly Madew is a Member of the Champions of Change STEM and Health Group which was established in 2016. The Group reflects the diversity of STEM and Health organisations representing our national scientific research and data institutions, universities, technology, and engineering enterprises, aged care, hospital and primary health care providers, medical device and pharmaceuticals producers as well as government and peak professional organisations.
The Champions of Change STEM and Health Group exists to achieve inclusive gender equality acting at organisation, sector and national levels disrupting the status quoin these traditionally gendered sectors to drive significant and sustainable change.
