Renato Mota joined the Champions of Change Coalition in 2023, as a member of the National 2015 Group.
Renato has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services in senior management and corporate strategy roles, and is a passionate and purpose-led executive.
Renato was appointed as CEO of Insignia Financial in 2019. Prior to his current role, he held numerous executive roles as General Manager of Distribution, Investor Solutions and Corporate Strategy and Communications.
Renato has led Insignia Financial through a series of forward thinking, strategic initiatives including the introduction of the organisation’s ClientFirst approach, an ambitious transformation and simplification agenda, and the acquisitions of the ANZ’s Pensions & Investments and MLC businesses.
Before joining Insignia Financial in 2003, Renato worked for Rothschild and NAB in corporate finance roles with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. He was involved in wealth management transactions including the demerger of Henderson Group plc from AMP in 2003 and NAB’s acquisition of MLC and Deutsche Financial Planning.
Renato is a Co-Chair of the Financial Services Council’s Superannuation Board Committee.
Renato has a BComm (Hons) and B.Bus and is a CFA® charterholder.

Based in Victoria, the National 2015 Group represents some of Australia’s most significant local, national and international organisations. Members work within and across their organisations to improve the representation of women in leadership positions and non-traditional roles.
