Matt Scriven is the Chief Executive Officer of Basketball Australia, the national governing body for basketball.
Basketball Australia is responsible for managing the pathways to play from Aussie Hoops, Australian Junior Championships, Australian School Championships through to the WNBL and National Teams- Boomers, Opals, Rollers and Gliders. Prior to Basketball Australia, Matt was Managing Director of Nine Melbourne where he was responsible for strategic and operational leadership of Channel 9, The Age and 3AW.
Matt has a lifelong connection to basketball and is deeply passionate about the sport. He has first-hand experience across every level of the game, from grassroots through to high performance.
Champions of Change Sport
Matt Scriven is a Member of the Champions of Change Sport Group established in 2015. The Sport Group includes leaders from every major sport in Australia, and of some of Australia’s most successful sporting clubs. The group is focused on advancing women in leadership, pay equality and creating safe, respectful and inclusive sporting environments.
