Kashif Gaya is a senior business executive with over 22 years of background and leadership experience in the financial services industry, leading strategic and innovative business propositions, driving organizational growth & profitability, and managing high scale digital financial services & eco-systems.
He has been involved in various local and international country leadership roles in UAE, Africa, Malaysia & Singapore, with proven product management & change management experience; and has a strong expertise in managing strategic partnerships and implementation of multi-channel technology led financial business and commercial models.
At present, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Euronet Pakistan (a division of Euronet Worldwide, NASDAQ: EEFT), which is a global technology service provider with clients in over 160 countries. Alongside, being an industry leader in electronic cards processing and payments, it has presence in multiple value chains of the payment industry. It also owns and operates ePay, which is the largest prepaid processing network and the digital content provider in the world, RIA Money Transfer, which is the 3rd largest money transfer company and XE.com amongst several other businesses. In Pakistan, Euronet is a leading market player offering technology services, card processing, retail merchant acquiring, ATMs & POS driving to numerous large banks and EMIs through its own data centers. Alongside, managing cards issuance programs and ATMs, it also drives over 80% of the POS volumes for all the largest and major POS retail merchants and acquirers in Pakistan. It is the first SBP authorized service bureau and is fully compliant with global data security, local regulatory guidelines, and customer data protection standards.
Prior joining Euronet, he was associated with Faysal Bank Limited as an Executive Vice President in a business leadership role for the enterprise-wide digital transformation, digital business strategy, and the business revenue lines of all digital products and channels.
After an initial stint of 5 years in technology companies, he began his banking career with UBL in 2003, at a time wheneBanking and payments was a highly underdeveloped area of banking in Pakistan. He was the founding member of a group of passionate individuals which initiated the need to productize payments and emerging financial services in Pakistan; and helped UBL lay the foundation of the largest & the most innovative Banking programs in the local banking sector.
His professional experience also includes other senior roles in different organizations – such as Head of Digital at Standard Chartered Bank, where he was also the member of the Regional Digital Banking committee to represent Middle East, Pakistan & Africa; and the Global Customer Care Leadership Committee; NIB Bank as Head of Customer Experience & Payments and the Gerrys Group, as Head of Software Development.
