David Raftery is Arcadis’s Business Area Director (Resilience) and Country Director for Australia. Within these roles, David is responsible for the management and leadership of the Resilience Business Area in Australia, as well as providing oversight across all Australian business operations.
An Environmental Engineer with over twenty-five years’ experience in the environmental consulting industry, David has provided project direction and environmental technical advice to transport and buildings sector projects involving both private sector clients and state and federal government agencies..
A long-standing advocate for LGBTQIA+ and Indigenous rights, David is passionate about establishing inclusive and diverse work communities and embedding cultural knowledges to align with business practices. Under his leadership, Arcadis has achieved Ambassador level in the 2020 Global Benchmark Report from Workplace Pride, the international platform for LGBTIQ+ inclusion at work, as well as the WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation for 2021-2023, which recognizes actions to drive positive change towards gender equality.
