Chi Melhem is a director at Tzannes, an Australian studio for architecture, interiors, urban and integrated design. Since joining the practice in 2003, she has designed and delivered a broad range of award winning projects from single homes, multi-residential, interiors, commercial, industrial, public buildings, urban precincts and feasibility studies.
Chi Melhem has a structured, organised and inclusive management approach. She has led the implementation of these skills within the Tzannes studio culture. As a strong advocate for equity, Chi leads the “People and Culture” portfolio at Tzannes, which offers all roles flex, paid overtime, paid parental leave and work/life balance initiatives. Chi teaches the housing design studio for final year at UNSW March and is a jury member for the State Design Review Panel.
Chi Melhem is a Member of the Champions of Change Architects Group established in 2015 in partnership with the Australian Institute of Architects. The Group is committed to working together to proactively address the issue of gender equality, and women’s representation in leadership in Australian architecture practices, and across the profession.
