Paul SchroderPaul Schroder became the Chief Executive of AustralianSuper on 1 October 2021.

He has been a key part of the executive team that has doubled the Fund’s membership, grown members’ retirement assets to over $225 billion, established a global investment profile and won most trusted super brand 9 years in a row.

Over his 14-year career at AustralianSuper, Mr Schroder has held senior executive roles leading key areas of the business including membership growth, mergers, corporate strategy, new product development, risk, brand and reputation.

Most recently, Mr Schroder was in 2019 appointed AustralianSuper’s first Chief Risk Officer, responsible for uplifting the Fund’s Risk Management Framework and driving the organisation’s Risk Culture.

Mr Schroder has been appointed by the Board to deliver on the Fund’s 2030 Strategy.

Mr Schroder sits on the Fund’s Executive, Crediting Rate Governance Committee, Liquidity Steering Committee, and Valuation Committees. He is the executive responsible for the AustralianSuper Board’s Risk and Compliance Committee as well as supporting the Finance and Audit Committee.

Mr Schroder is a Director of Industry Super Australia Pty Ltd (ISA) and Australian Council of Superannuation Investors Ltd (ACSI) plus a member of the IFM Shareholder Advisory Board and a Steering Committee Member of Melbourne Mercer Global Pension Index (MMGPI)

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and was awarded the Shell exhibition prize for Labour economics. He also holds a diploma in Financial Planning.

Previously the National Secretary of the Finance Sector Union, Paul’s focus is on helping members achieve their best financial position in retirement through strong long-term investment performance and lower costs, whilst continuing to grow AustralianSuper as a trustworthy and globally significant financial institution.

Based in Victoria, the National 2015 Group represents some of Australia’s most significant local, national and international organisations. Members work within and across their organisations to improve the representation of women in leadership positions and non-traditional roles.
